Hours of OperationPublic Tours (1.5 hours): During the spring, summer, and fall, we will be doing daily tours. Most tours will take place at 10:30 am, 1:00 pm or 4:00 pm. Please check online and see if the date and time is available. We encourage advance booking to ensure your spot. All tours meet at the Visitor Center at 221 King St., Alexandria, VA 22314 with the exception of the Old Town Tavern and Pub Crawl, which meets at The Alexandrian. ** Winter Hours: We will scale back the times during the week and mostly have public tour options at 1:00 pm. Private Tours (2 hours): Private tours can be booked any time if guides are available. We will work to make sure your group can find a convenient time. Alexandria is the perfect classroom to learn American history from the colonial period to the modern day. GratuityIf you feel the tour was good, a gratuity is always appreciated for a job well done. They can be given in person, through the online booking platform, or Venmo. We highly encourage gratuity as our guides work very hard to deliver an exceptional experience.

Refund | Cancellation PolicyCancellation and refund is good up to 24 hours prior to the tour. The only exception is if the weather is too severe and conditions are unsafe for the tour.

Wheelchair Accessibility?Our tours are mostly flat and on brick sidewalks. There is accessibility without needing to take stairs. On occasion, the bricks will be loose and uneven.

Christ Church VisitIf possible, we will try to visit Christ Church Episcopal. Christ Church is a historic church that dates to 1773. George Washington attended the church and his box pew is still located inside. If you enjoy your visit to Christ Church, please consider a donation to the church so that it can remain open for visitors throughout the year.
